About OpenAI dots
Dots are OpenAI's always-on AI agents, announced officially on September 29, 2026. According to OpenAI's announcement, they learn what matters to the user and keep working on their behalf. Each dot is powered by GPT-6 Astra, has its own cloud computer with its own browser and the apps the user has connected, and learns from feedback over time.
Dots connect to more than 4,000 apps through plugins, and users can talk to them by message or voice call in ChatGPT on desktop, web and mobile, as well as in Slack and Teams. The user's own computer stays separate unless the user chooses to connect it. Actions that could affect accounts or share information go through automatic review, and sensitive tasks such as changing a password always stay with the user.
