About Meta Muse
Muse is Meta's personal AI agent, which can browse the web, connect to apps and take actions on the user's behalf. According to Meta, logins are kept in a secure credential store that the agent cannot read, and when shopping a one-time card number is generated at checkout, so neither the merchant nor the agent sees the real card. Eligible purchases are covered by Link's purchase protections.
Meta says Muse asks permission before actions such as sending messages, making purchases or sharing information with a connected app; the user can allow an action once, always allow it or deny it, and can see an audit trail of everything the agent has done. Conversations are not shared with Meta's ad systems, according to Meta.
