Chad GBD dots and Metamuse are both competing hard for the title of which is the better personal AI agent. But which one is better? Or the better question to ask, which one is better for your use case? I've been using both for a few weeks now and I think I've figured out the strengths and drawbacks of each. You will know by the end of this video exactly which one you should reach for for your needs. So, let's get started. First, Muse is a personal AI assistant from Meta. There is a beautiful app where you can simply message with a job that you need help with, like go reserve a concert ticket for me as soon as it opens up. It can do the job even when you're away. Chat GPD dots is OpenAI's version of Muse. It's also a personal AI assistant but inside of chat GPT. You give your dot an ongoing responsibility and it can keep working on it. Remember the context and come back with results or a decision for you. Both have their own computers in the cloud so they can do work between your messages. Now what does it cost? Muse has a generous free tier with usage limits. Meta currently lists a $20 and $100 a month subscription for higher allowances. But honestly, I call myself power user and I couldn't even reach half of my limits until now. It's rolling out in the US on iOS, Android, and the web and it's still in limited testing. Dots is a whole different thing. You need at least Chad GPD Pro or business plan to even get access. So, there's a huge fee to even go try it. It's rolling out gradually as well and I expect it to become available for all tiers in a bit. You create your dot on desktop first, then continue in the mobile app when the supporting update is available. Okay, let's get to my two tasks that will explain the difference between Muse and Dots. First task, I'm planning my daughter's upcoming birthday. I need to figure out the venue availability, invites, food, decor, cake, and it would be really nice if a personal assistant can handle it for me. Second, I'm managing development work on our app, Angotasks. It's a live and published app with more features planned, bug fixes, marketing, and more. Both are very different tasks and need very different support. First, for organizing the party, I'm going to give that task to Metamuse. I'm going to open up Muse on my phone and simply say, I'm planning for a birthday party for my 5-year-old on December 15th in Redmond, Washington at some play area. I want you to handle identifying venues, checking availability food decor theme and everything else for the event. That's it. Muse went to work. It asked me a bunch of follow-up questions, but eventually it was able to give me a few package options with dates and costs and everything. Once I picked the ones that I liked, it even went to reserve the place. It made a notion page and put all the details there including guest list, cost, things to buy, etc. It was able to put all these information in notion because it could connect to notion with the plug-in, but overall it did a wonderful job. It truly made the job super simple and light on me. Now, there was one time where some information was not clear on the venue's website. Muse suggested to email them asking for clarifications. When I approved it, it was able to draft an email, found the email address, it researched by itself, send the email using my Gmail connector, and as soon as I got the response email, Muse identified that too and updated the party plans depending on the response they sent. Overall, I would give an A+ on the simplicity of getting job done with Muse. So, shall we try the same task with dots as well? Well, I'm not going to bore you with the same steps again, but here's my take on how do it. Dot was able to handle a lot of tasks for birthday planning proactively as well. It could connect to notion to create a detailed party planning docs. It was able to research for venues and figure out the details. It could also send and receive emails and extract data out of it. So, basically everything that Muse could. So, A+ on that functionality for this specific test. But there is a butt. Dots lacked that simplicity of getting job done over Muse. Somehow Muse felt very seamless, so intuitive like really talking to someone in a messaging app. Meta has perfected this because Meta has a strong messaging platforms like WhatsApp messengers etc. So they know how to get the interface and how the responses should look like to make it more human. Keep in mind the AI behind the scene doing all these work is Muse for Metam Muse and GPT6 Astra for dots. Just comparing the intelligence and capability, GPT6 Astra is a better model here. Way better intelligence, but that's a fact. Handling a birthday party or researching clothing or shopping recommendation or even managing your travel does not need a super intelligence AI. A basic one will do. What matters more is the experience and Metamuse has nailed that. Okay, before we move on, I want to thank Fish Audio for sponsoring this part of the video. And I'm going to show you this the most honest way I can inside something that I actually built. This is Ango Tasks. It's an AI task manager for iOS. Many of you might already know. It's my very own app that I developed. The feature people use the most is this. You just talk your tasks out. You say, "Remind me to email the landlord tomorrow and pick up groceries after work." And it comes back as two separate tasks. But for that to work, the difficult part has to happen first. Your voice has to become text accurately before any AI can pull tasks out of it. That's where fish audio comes in. Look at this. I send my audio file as one simple API request to their ASR endpoint. ASR just means automatic speech recognization which is the speech to text part and I get back the text accurately transcribed. It was so simple because their app playground has all the examples that I simply can reuse. I can then extract the tasks from this easily through one more LLM call. For developers, this is super handy. Of course, you can do all of this in their web app as well. There's also the reverse which is the text to speech. Fish Audio has released their latest texttospech model, the S2.1 Pro, which is super accurate and super organic in generating realistic speech. There are two features that makes it really stand apart. One, you can very easily specify the emotion with which you want the speaker to talk like excited, laughing, sad, etc. But more importantly too, I can even specify the voice I want the text to speak in. The best part is I can even record a 30 seconds clip of my own voice and save it as a voice. Which means I can later come back, pick text to speech, specify the model, add text with emotions, even pick one of their 83 languages, pick my very own voice, and voila. Hello, welcome to Fish Audio. This is my first AI generated voice. Thanks for watching. I have a generated speech in my very own voice with the right emotions spoken accurately. And since I can do this all through API, I can simply ask Claude to build a Python script, specify the script with emotion tax, specify the voice to use, and get back a realistic audio in my own voice that I can use for content creation, YouTube shots or reals, or even create audio books in my own voice. Did you know you can use AI with no internet? >> And once I automate it, we have a content creation engine that does all the work for me. Fish Audio also ships an MCP server so you can plug it straight into an Asian pipeline instead of wiring up the API by hand. I've been using it recently and I've been very happy with the output. I'll leave a link if you want to try it out. Now, let's get back to the video. Okay, with that, don't conclude Muse is the better personal agent here. Chat GPD has some tricks up its sleeves, some big ones. First, like I said, GPT6 Astra is way more capable and intelligent than Muse. Which means if you have a task that involves super complex financial data, a technical presentation, large code base, development or anything that needs a little more brain power, dots is simply going to give you a better result. Second, dots have integrations with chat GPT work and codeex. This means if you previously had jobs that included codeex or work, then using dots to manage them is going to get super easy. This is where my second use case comes in. Many of you know that I have published my tasks app called Anggo Tasks. It's live on iOS and web and it's been in store for over 9 months now. I'm also working to bring Anggo tasks to Android very soon. These are not simple tasks. I managed a lot of them inside codeex. Bug fixes, feature work, designing, marketing, using chat GPD and more. This needs a super intelligent brain like GPT6 Astra and a well-built development harness like Codex. With Dots, I can manage all my app development just inside dots. I will now give it a simple goal. You are now responsible for managing my Ango tasks Android development. It involves porting all my iOS features to Android, testing it, building bug fixes and managing it post release for any user feedback, marketing and social media. You see this is a super large task. It needs codecs. It needs chat GPT work. It needs chat GPT image generation. And it also needs connectors like notion, Gmail, computer use and automations. I used to do all of that individually on my own like design images in chat GPT work, make features and bug fixes in individual sessions in codecs, use connectors to research and send emails. But now with dots, I have a single interface and it's proactive now. Dots can now keep researching the web for any user feedback and tell me if I approve, it'll work with codeex to implement and test that feature. Then it'll have chat GPD work to design templates and publish materials for me. It'll also then use computer use feature to manually test the feature on a simulator and to build and deploy the code and keep doing this all over again. You see how easy it has made the same thing that I used to do with four different tools before. There's one more thing that dots can do but muse cannot. Since Dots can access Codeex, even if you don't code anything, Codeex comes with a lot of tools that can do things on your computer. Think about this. I can ask Dots, look on my documents folder on my Mac for a file containing all my monthly financial reports, analyze them, clean them, and create a PowerPoint presentation highlighting the business growth and save it back to my documents folder. It did a job that was supposed to be on my computer while I am away using tools that are present locally. Muse cannot do this, at least not yet. The depth of work dots can accomplish is super deep than what Muse can. I think you may have already gotten the essence of where chat GPT dots and Metam Muse excels. So, here's my recommendation for personal tasks and those sort of can you sort this out for me moments while you're out and about. I would start with Muse. It's capable enough for a lot of everyday jobs. It's easy to use and there's a free tier with usage limits. You can find out whether having an AI assistant actually helps you before adding another subscription to your life. I would choose dots when the task gets complicated, when it needs deeper reasoning, coding or work on my connected computer. That's where I have found the extra capability useful. And if you already work in codeex, having dots coordinate that work gives you a much stronger reason to pay for it. I wouldn't pay for the extra power unless I had work that could really use it. But if it saves me hours on a complicated project, that higher price becomes much easier to justify. So look at the jobs that you actually want to hand over each week. That will tell you much more than a feature list. Okay, let me know in the comments if this video was useful. Thanks for watching. I'll catch you in the next one. This is Sanja. The bite.
