About ChatGPT Work
ChatGPT Work is an agent inside ChatGPT that OpenAI introduced on July 9, 2026. According to OpenAI, it gathers information across the user's apps and files to create finished materials such as spreadsheets, slides, documents and web apps, and can stay with complex projects for hours by breaking them into smaller steps. It has Codex technology built in and is powered by GPT-5.6, the OpenAI model released the same day.
Users connect tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Drive, SharePoint, email, calendars and CRMs through plugins, and can point ChatGPT to a specific app by typing "@" followed by its name. With Scheduled Tasks, ChatGPT Work can keep projects moving while the user is away, and the Sites feature, launched in public beta, turns work into interactive sites or web apps that can be shared by URL. It first rolled out on web and mobile to the Pro, Enterprise and Edu plans, followed by Plus and Business.
