So, a lot of people don't know this, but Google has an AI agent, similar to Hermes agent or Open Claw, but much, much less complicated and integrated into Google's platform, and it's called Gemini Spark. So, in this video, I'll show you what it is, how you can use it, and some examples of things you can actually do with this. So, before I get started on how to actually use this, let's explain what the fundamental differences are between Gemini Chat and Gemini Spark. So, Gemini Chat, you may be familiar with, you can ask basic questions, it can research on the web, it can also connect to Google services. So, I could say at Gmail and it can search my email inbox, it can search my calendar, and it actually can do quite a few things as well, but it's not able to do scheduled recurring tasks, it can only do a task when you ask it to. Gemini Spark, on the other hand, can do a scheduled task. I can say every day at 8:00 a.m. do this certain thing. Once a week, I want you to analyze my inbox and see if I have any subscriptions. Another thing that's very different is every time you ask Gemini a question in chat, if it makes a document, say an invoice for example, it's going to have a different format every time. You can give it a template and say copy this, but it's not going to be nearly as consistent. Like Gemini Spark, you can say, "Hey, take this email, find the prices I had, and then use my invoice template from the folder and generate an invoice and save it as a draft on Gmail." And the third main difference is that Gemini Spark is much more agentic, it's able to do more things, it's able to move files, manage things, amend files that already exist and put them back where they were. It's able to basically act like an employee, whereas Gemini Chat is more like just an AI assistant that you can ask things, you know, for a one-time thing. So, now that we know the differences between Chat and Spark, there are some key things that you're able to do with Spark, and I'm going to show you some examples throughout this video, but for example, it's going to act as an agent that can work for you. It can go through any of your Google services, as well as some other ones. If I go to settings and I go to personal intelligence, I then go to connected apps, you'll see that there are a lot of apps that you can connect to. So, you can set this up with anything that you have uh that you use regularly. Maybe Canva's a really big one and they give us some examples there. So, generate an Instagram story for the barbecue party from this weekend. It can pull from your calendar, find out what's this weekend, find out what the theme is or something like that. Um and then it can create, you know, an Instagram story for that. They can connect to GitHub or granola or OpenTable. You can ask it to reserve a table. Uh and really an interesting one in my opinion down here is Zillow. So, it could do a lot of research if you tell it what the criteria might be and then it can draft a bunch of emails for the right people. You can go and proofread them and you can send them and it's just an easier way, basically like having somebody work for you to do all of this kind of logistical stuff in the background. So, there are four main things you need to access Gemini Spark. One, you need to be over 18 years old. Two, well, of course, regions matter as well. Most regions in the world, it is global right now, but there's some areas that may be uh you know, like Nigeria, Switzerland, UK, for example. But, number two, you need to have a Google account. It has to be a personal account. Right now, it's not set up for work or school accounts. And the third thing you need is a subscription, either Google AI Pro or Google AI Ultra. And as far as pricing goes on those, I opted for the AI Pro plan. Uh right now, it's $5 a month for 3 months and then it goes up to 20 a month. So, at that time, you can decide if you want to keep it or cancel it, but after that, it could be $20 a month to get started with this. But, of course, that includes a lot of other things. It's not just for Gemini Spark. It gives you, you know, a couple terabytes of storage and all the other Google bundles a ton of things together. So, once you have that, that can bring us over to Gemini Spark. Essentially, you go to gemini.google.com and on the top left, you may see this little button right here. You can open the sidebar and you can click on Spark. Within Spark, we're able to describe a task, we're able to upload files, add things from Google Drive, upload from different areas. You can also dictate directly to this, just speak to it and use the microphone instead of typing. And down below, you'll see the other tasks that you may already have. You can go to all tasks and once we have some, they're all going to show up here. However, we have some suggested ones down there as well, but I'm going to go with my first example in this video. So, I know a lot of people pay for services that analyze their inbox and their credit cards and find subscriptions that maybe they don't know they have or they just don't have time to cancel, and I want those to all be organized in one document. So, rather than paying for a service, I'm just going to have Google Gemini Spark do it for me. So, clicking on the little settings button on the bottom left, I think you guys can see that in the screen recording, you first want to go to personal intelligence, make sure this is enabled, and then go to connected apps and make sure that all of these are enabled. Or at least Google Workspace is enabled. That's what we're going to need for this task right here. But, if you scroll down, there are quite a few other things you can you can enable if you want it to connect to Canva or GitHub or Dropbox, Instacart for groceries and stuff like that. There's a lot of other things that you can connect, and we can talk about those later. So, let's go back to Spark, and I have one. I'm just going to paste it right here. I'm going to tell it to set up a weekly schedule every Sunday at 8:00 in the morning, and I want it to audit my Gmail inbox, search for receipt confirmations both from emails that I subscribed to that I I should, you know, unsubscribe from, but also, you know, paid subscriptions that maybe I'm not aware of that just kind of slip through the cracks of my inbox. Then, I want it to open my Google Sheet titled subscription audit, and so, let's actually make that real quick. If you go over to Google Drive in the same account, I recommend in Google Drive making a folder called Gemini Spark workplace or workspace. Within that, we can have Gemini Spark doing all of the different tasks. I will have right here subscription audit is a spreadsheet I already made, and I'm going to have it add everything to this. And so, that's a way that you can have it, you know, work in one space without affecting your other files. I'm going to tell it when it finds emails that I should unsubscribe to or that I didn't know I subscribed to, you can take the vendor name, the service name, the category, um and do all, you know, take all of that and put it into my spreadsheet. Then, afterwards, I want it to notify me of any email subscriptions that I have not yet had on that spreadsheet that maybe are new ones and I can go and check them out and unsubscribe. So, I'm going to hit enter and you can see here it's starting to build it. It tells me what it's doing and on the left side this is a new interface where it's going to show me all the recent tasks essentially. They'll be listed on the left side and we can create new ones on the top. So, now I'm just going to ask it to run it now as well just so we can run a test on this and see if it actually works and then in the future go back to that Sunday morning schedule. And while this is working I want to point out that when you have a lot of different tasks on the left side you can pin the ones that are most relevant that maybe you want to go back to frequently. So, I can click on the three dots there and I could either rename this by the way or I could just pin it. I'm going to pin this one at the top so it's always up there no matter what I do. As a recurring thing I just always want to be able to access that. All right, so it looks like it ran that. That was actually fairly quick and it has two things the paid subscriptions like I asked for and email subscriptions. The paid ones has obviously the Google AI Pro which I just subscribed to in the beginning of this video Anthropic which I subscribed to a couple days ago. We've got ClassPass and we've got Spearmint gum. So, that's one that maybe I ordered one time and it looks like it's going to be processing fairly soon. And actually yeah, tomorrow. So, I might want to cancel that so I don't accidentally get another like subscribe and save kind of thing that I didn't want. So, let's go over and check out the spreadsheet and see if it worked and it found the spreadsheet. If I go to Google Drive this is the one I told it to open. Opening it it looks like it did a really good job. You can see status is active on all of these the price per month. So, I can add these up and say oh that's actually way more than I wanted. This is so useful in my opinion. And of course I can edit this later and ask Gemini in the corner to make these like a drop down and change subscription status on my own but I think this is a great way to track things. Now, I think we're ready to move on to our next task. Now, for the next one I want to integrate more Google services here. So, if I'm going to go up here I want to describe a task and this time I'm going to ask it to monitor my inbox. You saw ClassPass right there. The problem with ClassPass is sometimes I sign up for these classes and then uh they don't automatically sync with my calendar. There may be a setting, I know, but this is just an example of how you could set this up. I'm going to tell it to scrape my inbox, whenever it finds something like that, automatically put it in my calendar, put it in a certain type of calendar, and then notify me uh if there's a conflict. So, I'm going to send this and hopefully builds this fairly simply. So, Gemini Sparks set up that routine for me and it's going to check every day, uh see if anything's booked, and then it'll automatically notify me if there's a conflict. It seems to have done it really well and one thing you'll notice is that if you've ever seen videos about like Hermes Agent um or Open Claw or Grokbot or all these other ones, there's usually a lot more setup involved, whereas Gemini Sparks, most people already have a Google account. A lot of people may even already have a pro plan like this and it's just really easy because it's already connected to all of your important Google accounts and you don't have to add extra permissions like most of these were already enabled by default. And so, anyway, moving on to the third example I have. I wrote down this one here as well. I'm going to say maybe I'm planning a trip in the future. Say March 5th, I'm going to Costa Rica. A lot of times what I have a problem with is I go and I you know, I book flights, I book rental cars, hotels, and stuff like that. And I know it's all in my inbox, but sometimes Gmail is not the best for searching and so I find that like I get to the destination and I'm trying to find my check-in like my my confirmation number things like that. I'm going to set up a routine that every morning at 6:00 a.m., at least until March 5th, uh is going to scan my inbox, see if I have any confirmation email, see if I have anything related to the trip, add things to my calendar, and most importantly, add things to a folder on Google Drive that'll have all my confirmation emails in one place. Now, I I know I could also do this in Gmail and just add little tags in there, but this is something that's going to be a little bit more organized for me and maybe I can share it with several other people so they have access to those confirmation emails as well. Um I have the folder already be up. I have Costa Rica trip right here. As you can see, nothing is in there, but I wanted to you know, just do all of this and also make a presentation as it finds anything else related to like safety or weather or news. And I'm going to hit enter and see what it comes up with. All right, these actually set up surprisingly fast. A lot of times I I hit enter and I kind of sit back and I expect it's going to take like 15, 20 minutes. Um but these work incredibly quickly and you can see it tells me a little summary there of what's going on. On the left side you can see all of the recent ones we've made. You can of course also sort these by scheduled ones. Um you can look at only ones that need input, that are in progress, that are completed. Um everything's going to be showing up on the left side. I'll go to recent and I think that's probably the easiest way for me to sort through, especially when you're just getting started and you only have a few that are routines. There's different ways you could set this up. You can have different triggers. For example, you can have it go every day. You can have it go like when you get certain emails. There's different ways you can have this set up. You can have it go only when you have when you manually trigger it. And you can communicate with this and have it communicate with you in several ways. It can send you emails when it's ready. It can send you uh calendar notifications. There's different ways you can get feedback or of course you can come to Gemini Spark and just manage with the chat. So, that is my summary of how you can get started with Gemini Spark. Leave a comment down below and let me know how you think you might be using this. I'm really excited to continue setting up a lot of automations uh because this is something that really could save me a lot of time. If you're working for yourself, if you're just managing a busy life, this could be a really powerful tool. Thanks for watching. I'm Mike O'Brien with Santoro Media and uh we have other tutorials. I'll link those right here. Pretty similar. Check them out.
