Video summary
The video demonstrates a workflow for creating print-on-demand t-shirt designs by combining automated niche research reports from ChatGPT with Kittl's agentic AI design tools. The creator shows how to review pottery and ceramics niche ideas, generate and iterate on text-based and graphic designs, and reverse-engineer existing best-sellers using AI prompts.
Key points
- The creator uses a recurring ChatGPT research gem to automatically receive daily print-on-demand niche ideas and reports.
- Today's evaluated niche focuses on pottery and ceramics hobbyists, suggesting ideas like 'totally killing it' and 'we're all a little off center'.
- The niche research report provides target audience insights, reasons to investigate, and original design concepts rather than guaranteed sales.
- The design process moves to Kittl's agentic AI, where text prompts specify minimalist, modern styles with black backgrounds and white foregrounds.
- The creator iterates on the AI outputs by adding pottery line art graphics and modifying color schemes based on feedback.
- Existing best-selling designs are reverse-engineered by taking a picture, having ChatGPT write detailed prompts, and generating new variations in Kittl.

Quick take
- A recurring ChatGPT task sends a daily niche report, here on pottery and ceramics hobbyists, by chat and by email.
- Kittl's agentic AI turns a short prompt into four t-shirt options, then iterates on colors, text and line art from plain feedback.
- A photo of a best-seller is described by ChatGPT and recreated in Kittl, which the creator admits can end up a little too close to the original.
Why this workflow is worth a look
Print on demand usually stalls at two points: deciding what to design and turning that idea into a clean file. This short video shows one creator splitting the job between a scheduled ChatGPT research report and Kittl's design agent, so each morning starts with a concrete niche instead of a blank search bar.
How IA Dots reads it (opinion, not fact)
This is the IA Dots take, not a fact. The useful idea here travels well anywhere: automate the research step so a human only judges and refines, rather than letting AI decide what gets sold. The part we would treat with care is the reverse-engineering trick. The creator himself says one recreation looked a little too close to the original, and marketplaces such as Amazon and Etsy remove listings that copy other people's designs, so the safer use is the second prompt, where the AI is asked to make something genuinely different. On cost, both tools have a free entry point: ChatGPT lists a Free plan, and Kittl says its free plan is for trying things out, while selling designs is where its paid plans come in (both checked on their official pages on October 31, 2026). The report also never promises sales, as the creator stresses; it is a lead to investigate.
Checked against official pages
- Kittl pricing page and FAQ (checked October 31, 2026): Kittl compares Free, Pro, Expert and Max plans and answers that the free plan is for trying the editor and passion projects, while selling designs, working with clients or scaling campaigns is “where paid plans come in.”
- Kittl homepage (checked October 31, 2026): the product menu lists a Creative Agent to “build launch-ready assets in one chat,” plus a background remover, an image upscaler, a vectorizer and product mockups, the same tools used in the video.
- ChatGPT plans and pricing (checked October 31, 2026): OpenAI lists a Free plan alongside paid Go, Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise tiers, with limits on uploads, image creation and deep research in the free tier.
- ChatGPT, for the scheduled niche reports and the design descriptions
- Kittl, for the agentic design, mockups and edits
- Amazon and Etsy, mentioned as the marketplaces where the shirts would be listed

This t-shirt design started with a report ChatGPT sent to me this morning. I've set up what I call my ChatGPT research gem to research print-on-demand niche ideas automatically. Today, I'm taking one of those ideas into Kittl's agentic AI, creating a design, and getting it ready for print-on-demand success. You've seen the finished result. Now, let me walk you through how I got here. But, this is the report that I received this morning. And I actually set it up to both come to me in ChatGPT, but also to my email address, so I'm getting it twice. So, there's a recurring task I set up in ChatGPT. Uh it gives me a starting point to review each day instead of beginning with a blank search bar. So, today I'm looking at the pottery niche. Something foreign to me that I wouldn't have thought of. Anyways, you can see here that the niche it evaluated was the pottery and ceramics hobbyists. And it gave me three suggestions: the totally killing it shirt, centering definition, and we're all a little off center. Uh this is a simple text-based design, by the way. I love it. It has 43 reviews, and it's got a $19.99 price point. Here is another one. It says, "Centering, verb. The act of fighting a great lump of mud until one of you gives up." That's hilarious. $21.95. Also love that price point. And here is the third design. It says, "We're all a little off center." Um it's got the little pottery spinning wheel that they use and the um you know, mud as they call it, being molded there. Um I love all of these. That one's got three reviews already. Ultimately, I'm looking for three things. Who would buy the shirt? Why this niche is worth investigating right now? And what kind of original design would appeal to that person? A report gives me an idea to investigate. It doesn't tell me that a shirt is guaranteed to sell. But, it gives me something specific to work with. Now, I'm taking the idea to Kittl. This is where the research becomes useful creatively. Instead of asking for a random t-shirt design, I can give the AI a specific audience and direction. And when you log into Kittle, this is the screen you see. So, it defaults to a gentic AI. You can go ahead and prompt it with as much or little info as you think it needs. My goal is to design a t-shirt that pottery and ceramic lovers uh will want to buy. The design should say Okay, I'm coming over to the Amazon listing now and this says totally killing it. So, in this case uh we'll say I'm going to type it out. Totally killing it. Um because if I were to say killing, it would not spell it correctly. So, there we go. We've given the simple prompt to Kittle's creative agent. Uh so, let's see. What look should the shirt have? Um I'll go ahead and minimal and modern. How many design options would you like? I want as many as possible basically. So, four. I'm going to go ahead and hit send. Quick reminder, sign up for Kittle using the link below with code Ryan to take 25% off. Here are the first four outputs. I'm not afraid to iterate until it understands what it is that I want. So, I'm going to go ahead and give it some feedback. I like where this is headed. My goal is that the design will look good against a dark background. So, for one, flip the color scheme. The background should be black. The foreground should be white. Also, I would like the design to be text-based. No graphical elements. We can add those in later if we want. Uh I want the text to be centered. I prefer big, bold, easy to read, but if there's a way to integrate like a pottery element or ceramics element, maybe it's just a texture applied to the font family. Uh that would look great as well. And I'll go ahead and run that and let's see what it comes up with. And there's our next output. I love that they did exactly what I requested. A simple text-based design, white in the foreground, dark in the background. There's I mean, I like to start simple, guys, and then make it more uh complicated if necessary as we move on. Uh then I had it mock it up on a black t-shirt. So, now I've got a mock-up done. On top of that, um now I can tell it what to do next or I can use any of these prompts that it basically writes for me. I'm going to go ahead and say, "Re-render the design and add a few graphical ceramics and pottery elements." So, I'm giving you the green light to add some additional graphics to the design now. And now we've got some basic line art graphics associated with pottery and ceramics as requested. Also, don't forget that you can edit any of these AI outputs and tweak them manually as you see fit. Can also remove the background in one click, edit specific areas, vectorize, upscale, add text, add elements, etc. I want to show you one other way that I like to kind of reverse engineer best-selling designs while also simultaneously making them my own and saving as much time as possible. So, what I'm going to do is actually just take a picture of this design for the "We're all a little off-center" t-shirt that we talked about earlier. I'm going to bring it over to ChatGPT. I'm going to paste it and I'm going to say, "Describe this design in-depth and I want you to reverse-engineer it in a prompt that I could put into an AI image generator to generate a new version of this design. I also want you to output a second description of this design except I want you to think outside the box of ways you could make it unique and improve upon it." And there we go. It actually did a really in-depth description of number one and number two. So, let's go ahead, grab number one. I'm going to go back to Kittl. I'm going to use the agentic AI and I'm just going to paste. And of course, number two where I gave it the freedom to decide how it might make it better. I'm going to go ahead and copy that as well. We're using the agentic AI. I'm going to paste and I'm going to see what it comes up with. And there it is. That is our unique recreation of the original design. It actually did a very good job uh recreating the original. Some might say a little too close. Of course, if that's your thought, you can describe as many changes as you need. Kittl's agentic AI will do whatever it is you request. Uh I also went ahead and just had it mock it up on a t-shirt. We've got our first mock-up. Um here also is the second version. This is where I said, "Hey, Chat GPT, go ahead and take it and run with it. Come up with your own variations." Now, did they make it a lot different? No, probably not too much different um when it's all said and done, but I still think it stands out and is unique when it shows in Amazon or Etsy search results next to a simple, you know, monotone, monochromatic uh white text and white graphic on black background shirt. Like, you can see that this one actually think looks really unique and has nice complimentary color schemes against that ash gray uh t-shirt in the background. I think that could actually do really well potentially on Etsy and Amazon. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below. So, that's it, guys. You saw the finished design and the research report that started it. That's the workflow. Chat GPT gems bring me niche ideas to investigate every single day. I choose the angle and Kittl's agentic AI helps me turn it into a design. The useful part is having a repeatable starting point every single morning and a clear next step once I find something worth exploring. Which part would you like a deeper tutorial on? Setting up an automated Chat GPT niche report or creating and refining designs further in Kittl? Let me know in the comments below. Subscribe and I will see you guys at the next one.
